A criminal defamation petition has been lodged against Pawan Kalyan, the chief of Jana Sena, by a woman volunteer in the Vijayawada City Civil Court. The petitioner claims that Pawan Kalyan’s remarks during the Varahi Yatra held in Eluru have caused immense mental distress to the volunteers. Allegations have been made that the Jana Sena leader made unsubstantiated claims against the volunteers without presenting any evidence.

The women volunteers, deeply concerned about justice, are now seeking appropriate action against Pawan Kalyan for his alleged defamatory statements. The petitioner’s advocate has formally filed the case invoking sections 499, 500, 504, and 505 of the law, and insists that Pawan’s comments be subjected to a thorough investigation, leading to necessary legal action.

In a media statement, the petitioner’s advocate emphasized the emotional impact of Pawan’s comments on the victim (volunteer). The court will initiate an investigation against Pawan Kalyan to provide his statement, following a recorded statement from the victim.

The petition is scheduled for a hearing today, and all eyes are on the court’s proceedings.
