Two Red Flags For TDP

Janasena President Pawan Kalyan is in Delhi to attend the NDA Partners meeting. He spoke to the NDTV on the sidelines of the meeting and made some interesting remarks.

When asked about TDP joining Janasena and BJP, he said, “I feel when we have a formidable person in power, all the opposing forces should come together. We have done it in 2014 but there were some disturbances in 2019. I can not speak for them but I hope everyone should come together”.

When asked about who would be the CM candidate, Pawan Kalyan tried to keep his options open, he told, “My supporters want to see me. TDP will obviously do the same and it is the same with the BJP. It all depends on how we do it and the momentum we can create. The present aim should be to deseat this Government”.

Both these statements are red flags, opine the TDP supporters.

“Alliance with Janasena is okay to some extent if Pawan Kalyan is accommodative. If he wants to bring in the BJP as well, it is the first red flag especially with the Saffron party clearly in bed with YSR Congress. Also, if he harbors the hopes of becoming the CM candidate despite being a minor partner, it is another big red flag,” TDP supporters are saying.

Despite the party leadership being in favor of the alliance, the party cadre is strictly opposing the alliance with Janasena and the BJP. It looks like things are going in the direction which the supporters feared.

“With this kind of attitude, we can expect Pawan Kalyan to make ridiculous demands in seat-sharing and then handover them on a platter to Jagan. And then, we have to bear the tantrums of the BJP as well which is a lilliput in AP politics. This is totally unnecessary,” they strictly opine.
