After a train accident in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, where two trains collided, causing 13 deaths, railway officials from the East Coast Railway canceled 33 trains and rescheduled six.

The mishap occurred between Kantakapalle and Alamanada Stations in the Waltair Division. The incident caused 24 Rails to be diverted and 11 partially canceled.

The Chief Public Relations Official of the East Coast Railway confirmed the impact, stating that three Rails were canceled and two were rescheduled this morning.

Rails to Andhra pradesh such as Chennai Central to Puri, Raigada to Guntur, and Visakhapatnam to Guntur were among the cancellations, while Chennai Central to Shalimar and Alleppey to Dhanbad were rescheduled.

The collision led to the deaths of 13 individuals and injuries to several others as coaches derailed from the Visakhapatnam-Raigada passenger train hitting another Rail on the same route.

The Divisional Railway Manager reported that three coaches were involved in the accident. Rescue operations, involving local authorities, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and ambulance services, were initiated immediately, with accident relief trains dispatched to the site.
