In Eluru district, Andhra Pradesh, a man has been apprehended for the alleged rape and impregnation of a minor girl in Denduluru Mandal. This troubling incident led to the swift response of law enforcement, resulting in the arrest of the accused, identified as Sivakumar, under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The arrest followed a complaint made by the victim’s parents, who were understandably distraught by the situation.

Sivakumar who worked as a volunteer in Denduluru village, attempted to flee after the case was filed against him. However, the authorities managed to apprehend him using crucial technical evidence. It has been made clear that there was no undue political influence or pressure exerted on the investigation, as confirmed by Nuzvid Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ashok Kumar Goud.

The minor victim, regrettably, is a 10th-grade dropout. Her parents became concerned when they noticed physical changes in her, prompting them to take her to a medical facility. It was at the hospital that they discovered her pregnancy. Subsequently, on the fifth of this month, they formally registered a case with the police.

Dedicated law enforcement teams worked diligently to locate and apprehend the accused swiftly. Sivakumar will be presented before the court to face legal proceedings, while the victim will be provided care and support in a rehabilitation center, as informed by Nuzvid DSP.
