Congress leader Seethakka’s decision to bring her son, Surya, into politics has sparked interest in the upcoming assembly elections. Surya is contesting for the Pinapaka Assembly constituency, a significant area in the joint Khammam district.

He submitted his application to contest from Pinapaka, and there are indications that senior leaders from both Delhi and Telangana have given their approval for his candidature. However, it’s important to note that the ticket allocation has not been finalized yet, as the application deadline was the last day for submission.

Pinapaka constituency is expected to witness intense political activity due to Surya’s entry into the fray. Earlier, there were speculations that Surya might contest from the Mulugu constituency. It was believed that if Seethakka contests and campaigns in Pinapaka, the Congress could have a strong chance of winning the seat.

In the 2018 elections, Rega Kantha Rao contested on the Congress ticket in Pinapaka and emerged victorious against the BRS candidate. However, later on, Rega joined BRS. Surya has been actively engaging with Congress workers and the public in Pinapaka, working to strengthen the party’s presence in the region.

His efforts have reportedly boosted the confidence of Congress cadre and increased his popularity among the youth. Surya’s active involvement in Pinapaka, coupled with his focus on addressing public issues and connecting with the local people, seems to have energized the Congress campaign in the constituency.

Despite some leaders shifting to other parties, Surya’s efforts have aimed to keep the Congress vote bank intact. With Seethakka’s influence and Surya’s youth leadership, the Congress hopes to make a strong showing in both the Mulugu and Pinapaka constituencies.
