“Election Commission Seizes Rs 450 Crore as Vehicle Checks Intensify in Telangana”
Increased checks on vehicles, even those belonging to Ministers and other public officials, are happening in all districts. The Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana, Vikas Raj, mentioned that special teams from the Election Commission have confiscated around Rs. 450 crore in cash, gold, silver, and other valuables throughout the state.
These vehicle checks involve Ministers and elected representatives in various districts.
Additionally, more central forces have arrived in many areas and conducted marches to reassure voters.
The CEO informed the press that there were no proposals received regarding the distribution of Rythu Bandhu. Replies were received from Pragathi Bhavan concerning Model Code of Conduct violations, and these were sent to the Election Commission.
As of Friday, there have been 256 FIRs filed for Model Code of Conduct violations. Among these, 30 were against BRS, 16 against Congress, five against BJP, and three against BSP, as stated by the CEO.
Addressing the Dubbak incident involving an attack on BRS candidate and MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, a report was requested from the police, which has been submitted. Measures are being taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
