Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police Bust Misuse of ‘X’ Handles: Demands for Content Payment
The Cyber Crime Police in Hyderabad arrested a person named Bhukya Ramesh for misusing ‘X’ social media accounts and asking for money from ‘X’ users.
Ramesh used the handle @MbRamesh_4005 to post hurtful, inappropriate, and explicit content, including fake videos that targeted a girl. These posts became popular on ‘X’, and some accounts were selling these fake videos.
Ramesh broke laws under the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act. He asked for Rs. 50 to share these fake videos on WhatsApp and wanted screenshots as proof after receiving the payment.
Twitter has specific rules, known as the Twitter Rules, to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all users. These guidelines prohibit various behaviors, including hate speech, harassment, threats, and the promotion of violence.
Users must respect others and avoid engaging in targeted harassment, sharing private information, or impersonating individuals.
