TRS Wins; ED Steps In!


The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids have resumed in Telangana after the Munugode by-election. On Wednesday morning, ED carried out search operations in Hyderabad and Karimnagar in reference to unlawful granite minings.

Between 2011 and 2013, crores value granites have been exported from mining quarries to Kakinada and Krishnapatnam ports. In 2012, BJP lodged a criticism with the CBI towards this unlawful mining alleging that the state authorities incurred Rs 750 crore loss. There are almost 350 mining firms within the joint Karimnagar district and a majority of them are associated to Telangana minister Gangula Kamalakar.

Prior to now the ED has summoned notices to many mining firms on the costs of On Wednesday the ED held raids at Arvind Granites, Swetha Granites and likewise on the residences of some house owners of those mining firms. There are experiences that the ED additionally reached TRS minister Gangula’s residence nevertheless it was locked. We hear that the ED broke the lock and carried out raids.
