Sometime back, if there is any film event taking place, then it used to happen only at Shilpa Kala Vedika. But now, the name is being heard very rarely with film events happening at different other places.

While half the events shifted to other places than Hyderabad, those few events are happening at places like JRC Convention Centre and Taj Deccan, Daspalla kind of hotels. One wonders why Shilpa Kala Vedika has lost its sheen though it has very good facilities. 

Some say it is traffic rules near Hitech City that are making film celebs keep off from this venue. During prime time, police are not giving permissions for film events to happen. Other say that this place is charging quite high compared to its competitors. The likes of Daspalla Hotel are said to be charging 3 lakhs for an event, while JRC is quoting 4 lakhs. But Shilpa Kala Vedika, that's run by the government, is said to be demanding 10 lakhs from film people. 

Whatever the reason may be, the once popular and effervescent Shilpa Kala Vedika is now taking a backseat from film events
