Soundarya, the granddaughter of former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, was discovered dead on Friday, January 28th. Padma, Yediyurappa's oldest daughter, had a 30-year-old daughter named Soundarya. According to Sources, she had committed suicide, and her relatives discovered her body at her Bengaluru residence and brought her to the hospital. She was, however, proclaimed dead. A postmortem is being performed at the city's Bowring Hospital, and police are investigating.
Soundarya was the mother of a six month old baby. She was suffering from postpartum depression, according to Yediyurappa's office, and was receiving treatment for it. Soundarya worked as a Doctor at MS Ramaiah Hospital, and in 2019 she got married to her husband Neeraj. She lived near Vasanth Nagar, close to Yediyurappa's Home.
The news reached the Cabinet, and Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is said to have raced to the hospital to see Yediyurappa and express his condolences. More information is pending.
Soundarya's death is being investigated by a team from High Grounds Police Station, which is under the control of DCP Central Bengaluru.
