Bollywood Drug Case: Deepika Padukone’s Manager House Raided By NCB, Found Charas And Two Bottles Of Cannabis Oil

Yesterday, on Tuesday, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raided the Versova residence of manager Karishma Prakash of actor Deepika Padukone, where it claimed to have discovered 1.7 grammes of charas and at least two bottles of cannabis oil (CBD). In conjunction with the FIR that had been registered in relation with the Sushant Singh Rajput case, Prakash had earlier been questioned by NCB. During the questioning of one of the paddlers detained by us in the case in which we are trying to bust drug networks around Bollywood, Prakash's name emerged. Based on the details, we raided her residence today. "We found 1.7 grams of chara and at least two bottles of CBD oil," an official from the NCB said.

At the time of the raid, the official said that Prakash was not home and that the search was conducted at her residence in the presence of her associates. "We called her to the NCB tomorrow for questioning, but her phone was turned off and we do not know where she is," said an official. While the Delhi NCB team is investigating the FIR concerning the Sushant Singh Rajput case-15/20, the second FIR-16/20-in which Rhea Chakraborty and 23 others have been arrested is being investigated by the NCB's Mumbai Zonal Unit. All the arrests so far in the case have been made in relation with the FIR unit in Mumbai.

Though Prakash has violated parts of the NDPS Act, the official added, she will be given an opportunity to defend herself before a decision is made to add her name to the FIR. There is nothing relating Deepika to the case so far. In addition to Prakash, her statement before the NCB was also reported last month by Deepika. On the previous occasion, the statement of Prakash and Deepika was reported after the NCB alleged that it had found chats on Sushant Singh Rajput's former manager Jaya Saha's mobile phone in which drugs were addressed. Padukone told the police in her testimony that the conversations were not about drugs, but about code words for cigarettes. South African national Agisilaos Demetriades, actor Arjun Rampal's brother-in – law, Rajput's cook and housekeeper, Rhea and her brother Showik, as well as some drug dealers, are among the 24 people arrested in the Mumbai case so far. An official said further arrests in the case were likely.
