Actor Rahul Dev Opens Up On Sanjay Dutt And Calls Him ‘Giving Actor’

In the upcoming Sanjay Dutt-starrer Torbaaz, the actor Rahul Dev will be seen. Rahul says he has bonded well with Dutt since his Bollywood debut in 1997 and their relationship has grown with time. "Sanjay is an actor who gives very much. He's not one of those people who would have snatched the moment. He's a wonderful co-actor with whom to create a scene, not a manipulating actor," Rahul told the media. He recalled that the late Mukul Anand's Dus was his debut film, which was shelved shortly after shooting began. Vinod Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon and Shilpa Shetty starred in the 1997 film. "My unreleased debut film was a Mukul Anand ji directorial film, entitled 'Dus.' We shot the film for 42 days. I was a debut actor, but he (Sanjay Dutt) had been really nice since day one and we slowly became good friends. He's a very warm-hearted individual. We used to work together, and while in this big city of Mumbai, I was a new fighting actor, he never treated me like that. If you talk to him, he's a big-hearted man, you just get it," Rahul said.

Since then, Rahul has been working on Sarhad Paar, Kidnap and Blue with Sanjay Dutt. "I saw him in his forties, in his 50s, and now. A lot has changed in him but the constant factor is that Sanjay is all heart," Rahul smiled as he opened up about Dutt, who turned 61 in July. In Torbaaz, the two actors will again be seen together. Rahul plays an Afghani extremist in the film and Sanjay Dutt is a cricket coach who goes to Afghanistan to train refugee camp children. "There's an ideological struggle between the two characters Sanjay and I played in the movie and you've got to watch the climax… we've had a hard-hitting scene," Rahul signed off. Torbaaz, directed by Girish Malik, also features Nargis Fakhri and will be launched on December 11 on Netflix.
