Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Minister Kollu Ravindra thanked Congress leader and film star Chiranjeevi for sanctioning Rs 5 crore funds for the development of Machilipatanam.  

During his term as a Rajya Sabha MP, Chiranjeevi earmarked a major portion of the MPLAD (MP Local Area Development) funds to the port city in Krishna district. The minister called on Chiranjeevi at the latter's residence in Hyderabad and explained the progress of the works. 

Ravindra assured the actor that all the work will be completed in a year. The minister thanked Chiranjeevi for his generosity. He also invited Chiranjeevi to visit Machilipatanam after completing Sye Raa's ongoing schedule.
