The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday arrested comedian Bharti Singh after "small quantity of cannabis" was recovered during raids at her Mumbai residence.Earlier, Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa were taken to the anti-drugs agency's office for questioning following searches at their residence in connection with a drug probe.The NCB has been probing the alleged drug use in Bollywood after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June. "Both Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiya accepted consumption of Ganja. Bharti Singh was placed under arrested as per the provisions of NDPS Act 1986 and examination of Haarsh Limbachiya is under way," NCB's zonal director Sameer Wankhede said after the raids.
The NCB said that Singh's name had cropped up during the interrogation of a drug peddler.The agency said it carried out searches at two other locations in the metropolis and recovered 86.5 grams of Ganja.Multiple television and film personalities have been under radar in connection with the drug probe that was triggered by the death of Rajput.Raids have been carried out at the flats of TV couple Sanam Johar and Abigail Pande, Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal and producer Firoz Nadiadwala.
Bharti Singh is currently seen on " The Kapil Sharma Show " where she plays the character of "Lalli". She also appears as a host on " India's Best Dancer " along with husband Harsh.Bharti has been a part of several reality shows on television including "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" and "Nach Baliye".The comedian tied the knot with Haarsh on December 3, 2017.
