Bollywood Drug Case: NCB Declares Rhea As Active Member In Drug Syndicate, Rejects Bail Plea

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has submitted in court that Rhea Chakraborty is an active member of a drug syndicate connected to high society celebrities and drug suppliers. With many high-profile Bollywood celebrities being investigated by the NCB, the enforcement body has now explicitly claimed that "high society personalities" are associated with a drug syndicate and drug suppliers.

Rhea is charged with harbouring late actor Sushant Singh Rajput for drug use, NCB said. If the overall scenario is seen, the present applicant is aware of the fact that he was harboured and concealed by Sushant Singh Rajput as someone engaged in consumption when he was engaged in drug consumption, "NCB charged." This comes as a sensational revelation in the probe of the role of Rhea in the death of the mystery of the SSR.

On Tuesday, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) opposed the bail applications filed in the Bombay High Court by actor Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik following their arrest in a drug case related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. On Tuesday, the anti-drug agency told the court that the investigation had nothing to do with Rajput 's death and that it was a drug syndication accident. The applicants say that this is related to the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput in all claims, but this investigation has nothing to do with it, "ASG Anil Singh, NCB counsel, told the court."

The court is hearing the bail petitions that Rhea and her brother have filed. On September 8, Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the NCB for allegedly procuring drugs for Sushant. Along with many others, Rhea was gaoled. Furthermore, the anti-drug agency said that all the people arrested in the case were interlinked with each other and there were daily contacts and drug purchases.

Rhea made a statement in an affidavit filed in the Bombay High Court by Sameer Wankhede, Zonal Director, NCB, that she was making payment for the drugs obtained by Samuel Miranda and Dipesh Sawant for handing them over to the late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput. Investigations are at a critical stage and if Rhea is given bail, it would hamper the investigation, the NCB said in the affidavit. There is ample evidence to suggest that Rhea is involved in drug trafficking, the NCB said. She used credit cards, cash and payment gateways for contraband to facilitate drug deliveries and payments. Rhea also approved her residence for Sushant 's drug storage and consumption, NCB said.

I want to point out that this is a syndicate of drugs and that all of them are interlinked. Many of the people arrested so far are linked to each other and they are a syndicate. There were daily contacts and purchases, ”NCB told the court. The drug deal is not limited to Sushant, the NCB told the High Court of Bombay. This is not a case connected with Sushant Singh Rajput. He may have been one of the clients, but he is not limited to the whole transaction and contract,' the NCB added.

So far, actors Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh have also been questioned by the NCB in the drug investigation. On June 14, Sushant Singh Rajput, a 34-year-old actor, was found dead at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai. In addition to the NCB, two other federal agencies-the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)-are also investigating the case.
