Andhra Pradesh broadcasts ex-gratia for victims of electrocution


Amaravati, Nov 2 (IANS): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday introduced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh every to the households of 4 agriculture labourers who had been electrocuted in Anantapur district.

4 girls employees had been killed and three others had been injured when a 33 KV line snapped and fell on them whereas they had been working in a area in Dargah Honnur village in Bommanahal mandal.

The loss of life toll was initially put at six. The injured had been shifted to a hospital in Bellary in neighbouring Karnataka and their situation is acknowledged to be essential.

Rayadurgam MLA Kapu Ramachandra Reddy mentioned the Chief Minister expressed deep shock over the incident and conveyed his sympathies to the households of the deceased. He ordered an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh every to the households of the victims and directed officers to make sure higher remedy of the injured.

Taking critical observe of the incident, the state authorities ordered suspension of Assistant Divisional Engineer, Assistant Engineer and Line Inspector for negligence. The Director of Electrical Security has been directed to conduct an inquiry and submit the report.
