Prabhas announced on social media in the first week of September that Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan will lock horns with him as the main antagonist in 'Adipurush.' While Rama's titular role in the 3D mythological epic will be tried by the Baahubali star, Saif will step into the shoes of Lankesh, the evil king of Lanka. A graphic showing the 10 heads of the Hindi actor as Ravana can be seen towards the top end of the poster, and below it, there is the image of Lord Rama pointing his arrow towards it. Saif Ali Khan spoke for the first time in a recent interview with the Mumbai media about his role in Adipurush and revealed that director Om Raut made the evil character humane and entertaining. He said, "It's interesting to play the Demon King with fewer restrictions. But we will make him human, up to the entertainment quotient, justify his abduction of Sita and the war with Ram as revenge for what Lakshman, who cut off her nose, did to his sister Surpanakha."
Kriti Sanon is the top contender to play Sita's leading lady role in 'Adipurush,' according to a Filmfare report. The mythological film features a wide range of visual effects to be helmed on a whopping budget of Rs 400 crore, and the makers are reportedly in talks with the VFX supervisors of 'Avatar' and 'Star Wars' to work on the graphics part of the period actor. Grapevine suggests that the film in green mat technology will be shot entirely, so the entire shoot will take place indoors. The multilingual project is scheduled for release on the 11th of August 2022.
