Madhavan will not be a part of Ratan Tata biopic as widely speculated. A few days ago, there were reports that director Sudha Kongara's upcoming film will be based on Ratan Tata's life, for which Madhavan has been approached to play the lead. Rumours also suggested that the biopic will be produced by Lyca Productions and it will go on floors in early 2021.
However, when one of the fans asked Madhavan if he is playing the lead in Ratan Tata biopic, the actor denied it as rumours. Madhavan wrote, "Hey unfortunately it’s not true. It was just a wish at some fans will made the poster. No such project is even on the pipeline or being discussed (sic)." Many of his fans are requesting him to do a film based on Ratan Tata's life. Some even said that only he could pull off the role with ease. Madhavan's last film Nishabdham released in multiple languages on October 2 on Amazon Prime Video. The film was initially meant for theatrical release but had to be released on the OTT platform due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. The film also features Hollywood actor Michael Madsen, Anjali, Shalini Pandey and Subbaraju in supporting roles. Nishabdham received negative reviews from the critics and audience alike.
